Welcome to Steve King Dental. We are a dedicated team of highly qualified staff operating from our warm and welcoming practice located in Cairns just off the Anderson & Pease St roundabout.​​​

At Steve King Dental Cairns, we offer our patients high quality dental treatment at affordable prices. Our dentists have a good mix of experience and youthful enthusiasm. Dr. Steve King personally mentors the younger dentists who were locally trained (JCU) assuring you of top quality dental care. Dr. King is a blow in from the South (Adelaide) in 1981, but he has long ago renounced his South Australian citizenship and is a proud Queenslander. Add a couple of hand picked internationally trained, experienced dentists and our patient care is number one. We share the same vision to provide a service you can trust and places your best interests at heart.

What comes to mind when you think of going to the dentist? Usually, people associate going to the dentist with negative emotions and expect a large bill at the end of their ordeal. At Steve King Dental on Anderson Street, we aim to challenge what you know about dentistry and create a positive experience for you and your wallet.

How are we different? Our number one priority is you!

When you see a dentist at Steve King Dental, you can be reassured that our dentists are not required to reach any quotas or meet any targets. For over 30 years, Dr King has built his reputation on caring for his patients like they are his own family and providing dental treatment that his parents could have afforded for him when he was a child – and he expects nothing less than this from his team! This means that high quality materials are used, infection control protocols are compliant with Australian Standards and our dentists and prosthetist are registered health practitioners.

For decades, Dr King and his team have demonstrated the importance of being empathetic and creating a legacy of helping others rather than pursing financial gain through the dental industry. This is how we keep our prices low…by being compassionate and understanding.

To keep things plain and simple, Dr King has listed his mantras that he and his staff have abided by, which has earned the trust of many Cairns locals over the years…

1. We don’t believe in expensive treatment plans. With modern dentistry, we can be a lot more conservative and believe not every tooth needs a crown.
2. We prefer to watch and wait rather than drill and fill. We want to be known as a conservative dentist. For some people, we understand that they have excellent oral hygiene and are taking care of themselves and filling every stain and chipped tooth would not benefit them at all.
3. If it isn’t urgent, we don’t have to do it until you can afford it. We want our patients to enjoy their life and not have to make sacrifices if it isn’t necessary.
4. We can offer preventative orthodontic advice and work with the local specialists to provide parents and children with options that may reduce the need for braces when they get older.
5. We use only equipment and materials that have been trialled and tested and are endorsed by reputable sources. We don’t have the latest gadgets if we cannot prove that they are safe and reliable and we do not pass these costs onto our patients.
6. We think outside the square. We are all individual and so are our teeth! We tailor our treatment plans towards you and your circumstances.
7. We want to see our patients happy, even if that means getting a free second opinion from Dr King or another dentist in the practice.
8. We prefer to work with patients to overcome their dental anxiety, one step at a time. We are more than happy to spend multiple visits building up our patients’ confidence before working on any difficult treatment.
